Trend-spotting and innovative Designer

Kingsland - Copenhagen
Are you skilled at spotting trends and utilizing them in your designs, and do you have experience designing textile products? Would you like to design for the equestrian community and work for a leading player in equestrian sport and lifestyle apparel? Then we have the job for you! Apply today for the wonderful job opportunity as Designer at Copenhagen-based Kingsland.

When quality goes hand in hand with functionality

Since the establishment in 1999, Kingsland’s recipe has been stunning yet functional and practical attire in fine quality, which blends classic equestrian fashion and contemporary design. Today – more than twenty years later – Kingsland is a leading player in equestrian sport and lifestyle apparel.

The design team is looking for a new colleague who will take an active part in developing new and innovative textile products for riding, stable work, and leisure. You will work closely with your design colleagues to ensure consistency and quality.

Tasks and areas of responsibility:

  • Be an important part of designing and developing four annual collections and contributing to develop the classic collection (NOOS)
  • Creating blueprints and more detailed drawings in Illustrator / PDM
  • Creating an overview of the collections with thorough information in Illustrator
  • Participating in brainstorm meetings
  • Presenting new trends and collections, both to colleagues and at sales meetings if needed

You will be based at the Kingsland office in Copenhagen and report to the Brand Manager. Travel activity will primarily include inspirational trips and supplier visits, but potentially also sales meetings, both nationally and internationally, amounting to approximately 15-25 travel days annually.

Innovative and enthusiastic Designer with an eye for trends

Kingsland is always looking to innovate and grow. Therefore, we expect the new Designer to be a creative thinker who is not afraid to challenge the status quo and who always looks for new ways to explore. You have an eye for spotting trends and manage to decode them approximately 8-10 month before the start of the next season. Moreover, you use customer feedback from the industry to create wonderful designs and inspire colleagues along the way.

It is an advantage that you know the equestrian environment well. You must have an education within design and a minimum of 3 years of experience with designing textile products. This enables you to understand the design process from A-Z and set realistic goals that you manage to meet.

Moreover, you are highly competent in using Illustrator and preferably also Photoshop, InDesign, and Delogue. It is a must that you are skilled in both Danish and English, and Scandinavian is an extra plus.

Colleagues and clients across the world

Back in 1999, the founder took it upon herself to create a brand, which considers the rigors of equestrian sport – without compromising the design. That was the beginning of Kingsland, which have provided high quality clothing and horse gear to riders around the world for twenty years.

As the new Designer, you get 35 dedicated colleagues across offices in Norway, Denmark, and China – besides salesmen, agents, and distributors in more than 15 markets.

As a company, Kingsland cares deeply about their social responsibility. Therefore, they consider rights and safety for the employees, care for the environment, and animal welfare three major priorities.
