When quality goes hand in hand with functionality

Since the establishment in 1999, Kingsland’s recipe has been stunning yet functional and practical attire in fine quality, which blends classic equestrian fashion and contemporary design. Today – more than twenty years later – Kingsland is a leading player in equestrian sport and lifestyle apparel.

As part of the design team, the new Horse Gear Designer will take on the challenge of designing all Kingsland accessories including rugs, saddle pads, protections boots, and other general horse gear accessories. You will be responsible for this area while working closely with design colleagues to ensure consistency and quality.

Tasks and areas of responsibility:

  • Developing two annual Horse Gear collections and contributing Horse Gear pieces to the classic collection (NOOS)
  • Creating blueprints and more detailed drawings in Illustrator / PDM
  • Participating in brainstorm meetings
  • Presenting new trends and collections, both to colleagues and at sales meetings
  • Initiating sales tests in close collaboration with the product team and buying team
  • Ensure that samples and products are thoroughly tested to secure animal welfare

You will be based at the Kingsland office in Copenhagen, and travel activity will include equestrian fairs, inspirational trips and potentially sales meetings, both nationally and internationally, amounting to approximately 15-25 travel days annually. You will be reporting directly to the Brand Manager

Skilled Designer with equastrian passion and experience

We are looking for a structured and enthusiastic team player with a creative mind, who understands that design and quality go hand in hand. You work strategically and purposefully at setting realistic goals while always striving to do better. Thus, you manage to make great designs that embodies the high standards of Kingsland.

You must have an education within design and a minimum of 3 years of experience as a designer. You succeed in obtaining customer feedback from the industry and are skilled in utilizing it in your designs. Overall, you have a great understanding of the design process from beginning to end and are able to decode colour and style trends and transform these to commercial designs approximately 8-10 month before the start of the next season.

Moreover, you are highly competent in using Illustrator and preferably also Photoshop, InDesign, and Delogue. It is a must that you are skilled in both Danish and English. If you are skilled in any Scandinavian language, this is an extra advantage, but not a must.

Back in 1999, the founder took it upon herself to create a brand, which considers the rigors of equestrian sport – without compromising the design. That was the beginning of Kingsland, which have provided high quality clothing and horse gear to riders around the world for twenty years.  

As the new Horse Gear Designer, you get 35 dedicated colleagues across offices in Norway, Denmark, and China – besides salesmen, agents, and distributors in more than 15 markets.
