BoConcept is a premium retail lifestyle brand, designing, producing and selling contemporary furniture, accessories and lighting for living, dining, sleeping, home-office and outdoor spaces. The company’s headquarters are based in Denmark, and it sells through over 300 franchise stores in 64 countries across six continents, making it a global retail brand. The company employs 230 people at the two offices, located in Herning and Ølgod.
As the new Art Director, you will be responsible for ensuring consumers buy BoConcept’s products through compelling creative concepts, campaigns, and content. You will lead a cross-functional creative team, which includes partner agencies and freelancers in the conception, design, and execution of visual materials across channels and touchpoints.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Oversee all marketing campaigns and content, from inception through to delivery, across digital and physical channels.
Work with internal and external teams to develop creative concepts and content across multiple work streams and channels.
Inspire and lead the in-house and freelance teams of copywriters, graphic designers and content creators.
Ensure that concepts and content are aligned with the overall brand strategy and ensure consistency and quality across all channels.
Develop concepts that fulfil strategic briefs and budgets.
Brief and direct production and post-production teams.
Reporting to Nina du Celliee Muller, Head of Markets and Campaign Planning, you will be part of the marketing organisation. Today, the marketing organisation has 19 employees based at the company’s headquarter and has seven local commercial marketing managers based in the company’s main markets around the world. The role is expected to be in the office 2-3 day per week.
Extensive experience in brand development
We require someone who consistently endeavours to push creative boundaries in terms of platform innovation and fresh, new bold ideas. You are passionate about design, brand, and creativity and your passion and drive inspires others, as does your proactive “can-do” attitude. You firmly believe that the consumer comes first, and thus, your decisions are rooted in a consumer-oriented mindset.
You must have extensive experience in brand development and multichannel marketing concepts. This means that you have at around five years of experience in a creative leadership role and are used to working in a high-paced, multitasking environment. It will also be advantageous if you have retail experience with a luxury brand.
You are an excellent leader, with strong communication and listening skills. This also means that you always provide feedback, explore solutions with the team, and incorporate the expertise and needs of everyone involved in a project in order to create the best possible products. You also manage time efficiently and are skilled at planning and strategizing high-profile projects, paying attention to detail and design aesthetics.
From local cabinetmakers to global retail chain
BoConcept was founded in 1952 by two young Danish cabinetmakers, Jens Ærthøj and Tage Mølholm. They built their small workshop in the sleepy town of Herning. The company has grown into a global furniture retailer, with franchise stores in 64 countries spanning six continents.
In 2016, BoConcept became part of 3i Group plc, which is supporting the management team to further develop the company and brand internationally, helping BoConcept to secure a solid position on international markets all over the world.
95 percent of the company products are sold through franchisees, and the global workforce consists of 2,350 employees in total, including staff at the stores.
